Hello! I am looking for pen pals and friends. I enjoy making new friends, and learning about different people and places. Colorado is my home. I was a long-haul driver trainer for a Utah based trucking company. Previously I wrote a monthly magazine column for a ham radio magazine, have had articles published, and was a volunteer hospital chaplain. Two prison jobs I have held are literacy tutor and reader-editor for the Reading for the Blind books on tape program. I am fighting a wrongful conviction, which is common in Utah. A concise summation of the underlying problem is the legal maxim, "Cesante ratione legis lessant et ipsa lex," which is Latin for when the reason of the law ceases, the law also ceases. I have taken a basic and five advanced paralegal correspondence courses while in prison. After my conviction is dismissed I plan to help attorneys reverse wrongful convictions. Ralph Waldo Emerson said that where we have been, and where we are going, are not as important as who we are. I enjoy helping people and I am an empathetic listener. My hobbies are photography, reading, pen pals and ham radio. I was a board member of my ham radio club, and a member of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) that helps provide radio communications during disasters. I support Primary Children's Medical Center, The American Indian College Fund, Make A Wish Foundation, and The Huntsman Cancer Institute, among others. If you are interested in being a pen pal write to me, and tell me a little about yourself. Ask any questions you like. I am looking forward to reading and answering your letter.
